Jules' Undersea Lodge is a piece of history, and is operated as a "living museum" from the Golden Age of Diving.  Originally designed in the early 1970s by diving pioneer Ian Koblick, it was first deployed as the mobile undersea habitat "La Chalupa" in over one hundred feet of water off the coast of Puerto Rico.  It carried a full range of subsea scientific equipment as well as innovations such as mini wet-sub and breakaway decompression chamber escape capsules.  The La Chalupa mission was the subject of a half-hour television documentary in 1971, still available on DVD.

Jules' Undersea Lodge was refitted and refurbished in the early 1980s as the first true ambient pressure habitat available to the general public.  It has operated continuously in Key Largo, Florida for over twenty-five years.  It has a perfect safety record, and thousands of satisfied guests who have experienced the wonder and delight of actually eating, sleeping, and living underwater, just as the first "Aquanauts" did in famed habitats like Conshelf, Sealab, and Tektite during the 1960s.

When you arrive at Key Largo Undersea Park you will be greeted by one of our staff where you will check-in for your overnight stay.  There will be some paper work to fill out and pre dive orientation.  If you are a non-certified diver there will be some PADI paper work as well.  Those of you who are certified divers will need to have your certifications at the ready for us to get copies of.

You will then be introduced to your Mission Director/Instructor who will give you a site briefing and orientation of how our missions run.  He or she will give you directions on how we exchange tanks, when dinner will be served, how to enter and exit the lodge, communication with your surface support and your time of departure from the lodge in the morning.

When you enter Jules’ Lodge you will be greeted with shrimp cocktail, fresh fruit and an assortment of snacks.   Our European Package comes with a generous portion of grilled chicken breast. The Jules’, Ultimate Romantic and Aquanaut Packages comes with your choice of filet mignon or Florida lobster tail   All dinners include fresh steamed vegetables, freshly prepared salad, baked potato, roll and butter.  For desert we have homemade Key Lime pie.  Breakfast includes your choice of coffee or tea, orange juice, Chobani yogurt and your choice of cereal.  You may choose to save some of your fruit for the morning as well. 

For those of you who are vegetarians you may substitute your shrimp cocktail with humus and crackers or cheese and crackers.

Pizza is on the menu for this overnight stay.  Check-in for the European Package is 2:30 p.m. with a next day check-out of 8:30 a.m.  Check-in for the Jules' Package is 12:30 p.m. with a next day check-out of 9:30 a.m.  Your dive gear is included with this package.

Cancellation policy:  Because Jules' Undersea Lodge has only two rooms, we strictly adhere to the following policy:  There is a $100.00 per person processing fee for cancellations a $50.00 per person rescheduling fee.  30+ days before the reservation date = a full refund - fee, 29-8 days before the reservation date = 50% refund - $50.00 per person fee, 7 days or less = no refund.  If there is an evacuation in the Keys due to weather you will be able to reschedule your stay  without having to pay a rescheduling fee.  Gift Certificates are transferable not refundable.

Please note:  We require you to be here ON TIME.  If you are not here by 5:00 p.m. and you have not called to inform our staff that you will be late for your normal check-in-time, your reservation will be cancelled and there is no refund.  If you are diving as a certified diver and you arrive without your certification card there will be a $35.00 verification fee and if we are not able to  confirm your certification you will have to take the Discover Scuba Course.
